The City of Centre Parks and Recreation Department and the Jacksonville State University women’s soccer team will be offering a summer soccer clinic on July 10 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Ed Yarbrough Park.

The American Youth Soccer Organization will hold signups for its fall season during the camp.

The soccer camp is open to the youths of Centre, Che-rokee County and surrounding counties. Registration fee is $20 per child. This event is programmed for the benefit of girls and boys age 4-13. College scholarship opportunities will be highlighted during this event.

The AYSO registration is for both the Centre and Sand Rock leagues. Cost is $40 per child.

The AYSO will also conduct a free coaching seminar during the soccer clinic.

Garrett Tires of Lees-burg and Uniroyal will donate 150 soccer ball to be given away at the soccer clinic.

The promotion criteria for the child to receive a free soccer ball is as follows:

1. Player must be registered July 10th at Centre or Sand Rock to play AYSO soccer in the Fall 2004 season and/or attend as a registered participant of the JSU Youth Soccer Clinic July 10th.

2. Parents of qualifying registrants/participants must complete the form given to them on July 10th and then present that form at Garrett Tire Store during the promotion period which is July 12th to August 12th, 2004.

3. The soccer balls are sized for AYSO youth soccer and are age specific. A size #3 ball will be awarded to players up to age 7. A size #4 ball will be awarded to players ages 8 to 11, and a size #5 ball will be awarded for players age 12 and older.

4. Quantities of soccer balls are limited and will be awarded to the players whose parents present their completed promotion form on a first request / first receive basis.

When all balls are awarded there will be no more available for this promotion period.

This Uniroyal Youth Soccer promotion also involves the tire manufacturer making a monetary donation directly to AYSO Region 402.

This donation is made based upon the number of Uniroyal tires sold by Garrett Tire during the promotion period noted above. Uniroyal’s contribution to Region 402 equals $2.00 per tire sold and Garrett Tire has decided to match the manufacturer’s contribution with a $2.00 donation per tire sold.

A prospective Uniroyal tire purchaser does not have to present a promotion form for this donation to be initiated for their purchase.

This extra money will assist AYSO Region 402 in effecting soccer equipment acquisition and upgrades along with field capital improvements at its various communities.

For those parents who choose to purchase Uniroyal tires from Garrett Tire and who present their completed promotional forms during the promotion period will be able to receive a $10 per tire discount on each tire purchased.
