Spring Garden’s broom was in full swing last Thurs-day, as the No. 2 ranked Lady Panthers (15-0) kept their unbeaten streak intact with a 25-11, 25-8, 25-17 sweep of Hokes Bluff.

In game 1, Candie Hairrell’s nine straight service points helped the Gar-den Girls jump out to a 12-4 lead, while Britney Parris provided the finishing touch with her ace at game point.

Garner’s five kills and Whitney Mobley’s three aces sparked the hosts to a 17-6 advantage in game 2, while Kelly Painter shut the door with two straight aces to put Spring Garden ahead 2-0.

In game 3, Jessica Preston’s 10 straight service points and three aces backboned the hosts’ 12-1 start.

For the Lady Panthers, Garner contributed 10 kills, while Parris collected nine.

Mobley distributed 14 assists, while Hairrell dealt out 12.

Parris, Mobley and Preston each served up four aces, while Twyla Hagger-maker came up with five digs.

The Lady Eagles used a 10-5 run to close within 22-17, but the hosts notched the final three points to maintain their perfect record.



Last Monday (Sept. 20), Spring Garden swept Gaylesville and Gaston.

The host Garden Girls upended the Lady Trojans, 25-9, 25-16 before dispatching Gaston, 27-17, 25-17.

For Spring Garden, Garner contributed 20 kills, while Parris added 18.

Mobley distributed 26 assists, followed by Hairrell with 18
