The 2005 Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet will be held on May 21 at 6 p.m. at the Centre First Baptist Recreational Outreach Center.

Tickets are $20 per person for the meal and induction ceremony.

The organization’s 2005 inductees are Spring Garden High School and Jacksonville State basketball standouts Dana Bright Austin and Jana Bright McGinnis, longtime Cedar Bluff High School football coach L.D. Bruce, Cherokee County High School baseball standout Greg Jelks, longtime CCHS football coach Bobby Joe Johnson, longtime Gayles-ville High School football coach Roy Knapp, Sand Rock High School basketball standout Wendell Lawson, Sand Rock High School football standout Ronny Shaw and CCHS and Samford University football standout Paul “Shorty” Trammell.

The CCSHOF is seeking sponsorships for the banquet and future functions. All contributions fall under the 501C3 non-profit tax-deductible status.
