Cedar Bluff boys finish fifth at 1A state mee | Sport

The Cedar Bluff boys track & field team finished fifth at the Class 1A state meet on Friday and Saturday at Paul Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama School for the Deaf took first place with 125 points, followed by R.A. Hubbard (98) and St. Jude (74.5).

Scott Rice was the Tigers’ big winner, as the senior’s 9’6” effort in the pole vault was good for the first place gold medal.

Rodney Guins earned the silver medal in the high jump (5’8”).

Finishing third was Cedar Bluff’s 3200-meter relay team of Rice, Kyle Warden, Julius Moore and Idral Bowens. (9:35.07).

Taking fourth place was Josh Hampton in the javelin (140’11”) and Terrell Irons in the triple jump (40-07).

Joe Long came in sixth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles (46.98), while Joe Clonts finished sixth in the 110-meter high hurdles (19.42) and Matt Wilson seventh in the triple jump (38-04)
