Sparked by Rick Peek’s double-double, Gaylesville opened its season with a 50-35 win over Georgia School for the Deaf last Tuesday (Nov. 15) at Cave Springs (GA).

The Trojans (1-0) trailed 21-18 at halftime before taking a 37-25 lead after three quarters.

Peek contributed 22 points and 14 rebounds while blocking five shots.

Corey Johnson scored 16 points, followed by Chris Bias with nine.

Johnson and Tyler Bradford each pulled down seven rebounds, while Bias grabbed four.

Bradford dealt out seven assists, while Bias handed out five.

Bradford also came up with three steals.

The Gaylesville B team also won, beating GSD 50-20
