Three Sand Rock student-athletes made the 2005 Class 2A, All-Region 6 football team.

Senior receiver Dusty Rollins, junior quarterback Josh Stimpson and junior defensive back Brian Dorsett were selected to the first team.

Wildcats named to the honorable mention squad were senior linebacker Coy Griffin, senior lineman Matt Wilson, junior lineman Bron Bolton, junior linebacker Tyler Daniel and junior defensive back Barry Agan.

Gaston’s Steve Smith and Sylvania’s Justin Jones shared the Region 6 Offensive MVP award, while Sylvania’s Derek Owen was named Region 6 Defensive MVP.
