The Spring Garden girls’ trophy case might be bursting at the seams.

The No. 1 seed and No. 1 ranked Lady Panthers (23-7) continued an annual rite on Feb. 13, as a 73-42 victory over Jacksonville Christian gave the Garden Girls their eighth straight Class 1A, Area 10 championship.

The Lady Panthers host Woodville in the subregional round on Thursday.

Paige Anderson led Spring Garden with 22 points. She also contributed eight rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

Tournament MVP Whitney Mobley posted a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Jessie Barnes collected eight points, seven rebounds, while Nicole Ledbetter and Hannah Hutcheson each scored six points.

Melissa Long scored nine points for the Lady Thunder.

Joining Mobley on the All-Tournament team was Anderson, Barnes, Jacksonville Christian’s Emily Miller and Joy Robinson, Gaylesville’s Cassandra Waldron and Collinsville’s Tyesse Carter
