The Sand Rock volleyball team split a tri-match at Gaston last Thursday.

The Class 2A No. 9 Lady Wildcats (16-10) defeated Hokes Bluff, 25-15, 19-25, 15-9 before falling to the host Class 1A No. 2 Lady Bulldogs, 19-25, 25-17, 12-15.

For Sand Rock, Ashley Beck had 19 kills, followed by Amy Crane and Megan Battles with nine each and Leanna Young with five.

Chelsey Chambers dished out 41 assists.

Chambers had seven blocks, while Beck added six.

Robertson served up three aces.

Crane came up with 18 digs, followed by Hope Robertson with 14, Beck with 13 and Jennifer Campbell and Lauren Bell with 10 each.

On Sept. 19, the Lady Wildcats posted a home tri-match sweep over Glencoe and Cedar Bluff.

Sand Rock beat the Lady Yellow Jackets, 25-12, 25-8 before handing the Lady Tigers a 25-10, 25-8 loss.

Beck had 13 kills, followed by Young with nine, Crane with six, Campbell with five and Battles with three.

Chambers handed out 37 assists.

Chambers and Robertson each served up four aces.

Beck had three blocks.
