Last Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats (24-13) swept Fultondale in a Class 2A first round substate series at Sand Rock.
Sand Rock opened with a 14-8 win, followed by a 6-5 victory in eight innings.
Chelsi Oliver was the winning pitcher as the starter in game 1 and as a reliever in game 2. She helped her cause at the plate with four hits and a run scored.
Also at the plate for the Lady Wildcats, Amy Crane and Taryn Teat each had five hits, while Kristin Brown collected three hits and four RBIs.
Logan Smith had three hits, an RBI and a run scored, while Lacy Daniel and Amber Henderson each had two hits and three RBIs
