If last Thursday is any indication, Gaylesville will turn a few heads this coming season.

At a varsity football jamboree, the host Trojans opened the evening with a 14-0 win over Cedar Bluff and closed out the night with a 14-10 victory over Sand Rock.

Five teams played two 10-minute quarters.

Against the Tigers, Caleb McCord’s six-yard touchdown run and his two-point conversion pass to Zac Mobbs made it 8-0 in favor of Gaylesville at 6:21 of the first.

The Trojans padded their lead at 8:10 of the second period when Tyler Bradford returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown.

Cedar Bluff then took on Ranburne. The visitors from Cleburne County went ahead 13-0 before Kyle Crane and Marcus Reese hooked up on a 55-yard touchdown pass with 4:10 remaining in the second quarter. he 13-6 total held up until the end.

Ranburne stayed on the field to face Spring Garden, and the Panthers ended up on the short end of a 12-0 score.

Next up was Spring Garden/Sand Rock. Jake Thompson’s 10-yard touchdown run and Justin Mackey’s extra point at 1:45 of the first period gave the Wildcats the initial lead.

The Panthers responded with 3:02 left in the contest, when Daniel Whitmore snuck over from the one-yard line for six points. Jake Scott tacked on the extra point.

In the Gaylesville/Sand Rock nightcap, the Wildcats gained thier points on Thompson's rushing touchdown and Mackey's 50-yard field goal
