Sand Rock junior quarterback Justin Mackey was a finalist for this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association high school Player of the Week award.

In the Wildcats’ 42-7 victory over Gaylesville last Friday, Mackey completed 15-of-22 passes for 148 yards while passing for three touchdowns and running for another score. He was also 6-for-6 on extra point attempts and recovered a fumble
