Spring Garden had to win and get some help last Friday in order to clinch the program’s first playoff spot in five years.

The Panthers (5-4, 4-3) took care of their business with a 49-0 victory over Skyline, but unfortunately did not receive the required assistance from their county neighbor.

As a result of Gaylesville’s overtime loss to Cedar Bluff, the Tigers (5-4, 4-3) made the postseason as the Class 1A, Region 7 fourth seed and the Panthers missed out on the playoffs.

The Panthers finish out the year on Friday with a visit to Sand Rock
