CENTRE – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers hosted the Lady Tiger Invitational on Saturday at the Gadsden State-Cherokee Arena. The Tigers defeated Faith Christian in three games, 27-25, 13-25 and 19-17. Cedar Bluff lost in three games to Decatur Heritage 25-18, 29-31 and 6-15.

Against Faith Christian, Tanessa Fife had nine kills. Tabitha Combs and Audrianna Hargitt both added five kills. Destiny Humphrey came away with four kills.

Lauren Barnett led Cedar Bluff in digs with 14.

Against Decatur Heritage, Fife posted eight kills, Hannah Leach had seven kills. Hargitt came away with five kills and six blocks. Dupree had 12 digs and Barnett added 10 digs. Humphrey finished with 12 assists.

Sand Rock falls to Geraldine in Albertville Tournament semifinals

ALBERTVILLE – Sand Rock went 4-1 on Saturday in the Albertville Tournament. The Lady Wildcats defeated Madison County (25-21, 24-26, 15-11), Boaz (15-25, 25-20, 15-12) and North Jackson (25-1, 25-3) in pool play. Sand Rock then defeated DAR in the quarterfinals 25-23, 25-13 before falling to Geraldine in the semifinals 26-28, 25-19, 11-15.

Sand Rock (9-1) was led by Logan Smith, who had 112 assists, 34 digs and eight aces. Jennifer Campbell posted 53 kills, 37 digs and six aces. Megan Battles came away with 17 kills, 10 blocks, 34 digs and 20 aces. Karlie Anderson had 28 kills, eight blocks and six aces. Carrie Robertson had 25 kills and 25 digs. Gena Farmer had 33 digs and Kayla Mashburn finished with 23 digs.

Sand Rock Junior Varsity wins Albertville Tournament

ALBERTVILLE – For the 2nd straight year, Sand Rock’s junior varsity team won the Albertville Junior Varsity Tournament. They went 6-0 on the day by beating Boaz (25-12, 25-9), St.Clair County (25-21, 15-25, 15-10), Arab (25-23, 25-23) and Southside (21-25, 25-14, 15-11) in pool play.

The JV Wildcats (9-0) defeated Cherokee County in the semifinals 25-20, 25-22 and then Crossville in the finals 25-14, and 25-16.

Tean members are Emily Ozment, Paige Ashley, Amber Ashley, Lana Bell, Marlee Bell, Kristin Ray, Katie Pearson, Heather Hester, Kelsey Hayes and Hannah Oliver.
