GADSDEN – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tiger volleyball team evened its record to 13-13 with a pair of wins on Thursday.

Cedar Bluff defeated Westbrook Christian in three games, 20-25, 25-17 and 15-13. The Tigers then took a 25-4, 25-13 win over Coosa Christian.

Against Westbrook, Destiny Humphrey posted 10 assists, five kills and three aces. Candria Dupree added seven digs, five kills and three aces. Tanessa Fife had seven aces, three kills, two assists and a dig.

Hannah Leach came away with four digs, three kills, two aces and an assist. Audrianna Hargitt had four kills and three aces. Maci Hughes had four digs and a kill. Tabitha Combs finished with three kills and Lauren Barnett had two aces, an assist and a dig.

In the win over Coosa, Hargitt led the way with 11 aces, five kills and a dig. Humphrey added 10 assists, two digs and a kill. Leach had seven kills, two digs and an ace. Dupree came away with six digs, five aces and a kill. Combs had four kills.

Fife finished with three aces two kills and a dig. Brooke Wood had four assists and a dig. Hughes had four digs and Barnett ended with three aces and two digs.

Cedar Bluff hosts Gaston on Monday.

Sand Rock splits at Geraldine

GERALDINE – Logan Smith posted 47 assists, 18 digs and three blocks and Jennifer Campbell added 14 kills and 14 digs as Class 2A, No. 5 Sand Rock split a pair of matches on Thursday.

The Lady Wildcats (16-4) lost to Class 2A, No. 4 Geraldine in four games. The scores were 22-25, 25-20, 21-25 and 18-25. Sand Rock rebounded to beat Class 4A Hokes Bluff 25-12, 25-12.

Megan Battles had 11 kills and two blocks for the Wildcats. Carrie Robertson added 13 kills and 12 digs. Karlie Anderson came away with 10 kills and four blocks. Gena Farmer finished with 12 digs and five kills.

Sand Rock hosts Cherokee County on Monday.
