The Tigers defeated Class 1A, Area 10 rival Gaylesville in three games. The scores were 25-20, 28-26 and 25-18. Cedar Bluff then lost to Sardis 25-19, 25-18 and rebounded to take a 25-12, 25-11 match over Collinsville.
Against Gaylesville, Audrianna Hargitt led the way for Cedar Bluff (15-16) by posting 11 kills, two digs and two aces. Tanessa Fife had 10 digs, six kills and three aces. Destiny Humphrey came away with 20 assists, six digs and a kill. Maci Hughes had 17 digs and an assist. Lauren Barnett managed 12 digs and five aces. Hannah Leach had six digs, three kills and an ace. Tabitha Combs added four kills and a dig. Candria Dupree finished with three kills.
The Lady Trojans were led by Krista Nichols’ 12 digs and 10 kills. Amber Moseley added 11 digs and six kills. Katie Lemons had nine digs, six assists and an ace. Kayla Nichols finished with five assists and four digs. Courtney Wheeling managed 10 digs. Amberly LaFavor came away with four digs and four assists. Hannah Beason and Kaitlyn Hammett both recorded a pair of digs, with Beason also adding a block and an assist.
In Cedar Bluff’s loss to Sardis, Leach posted six kills and a dig. Hargitt had five kills, two digs, a block and an assist. Humphrey came away with 12 assists, three digs and two aces. Dupree and Barnett led the Tigers in digs, with had 12 and eight respectively. Hughes recorded six digs and two kills. Fife finished with five aces, four digs and a kill.
In Cedar Bluff’s victory over Collinsville, Hargitt came away with seven kills and two aces. Fife had five kills, three aces and two digs. Barnett managed five aces and three digs. Leach finished with six aces, three kills and two digs. Humphrey had 13 assists, two digs, a kill and an ace. Hughes had four digs and Dupree finished with three digs and two kills.
Gaylesville also lost its other two matches to Sardis (14-25, 17-25) and Collinsville (18-25, 25-22, 7-15).
Against Sardis, Krista Nichols had seven digs and four kills. Moseley came away with six digs, five kills and a block. Lemons, Kayla Nichols and Amberly LaFavor all had three assists. Lemons, LaFavor and Hammett also added five digs apiece. Kayla Nichols also had two digs. Wheeling finished with four digs
In the loss to Collinsville, Gaylesville was led by Moseley’s 10 digs and seven kills. Krista Nichols added nine digs, five kills and an ace. Lemons had six assists, five digs and a kill. Kayla Nichols came away with six digs and five assists. LaFavor had four digs, two kills and an ace. Hammett and Wheeling finished with five and four digs respectively. Beason added a block.
Sand Rock sweeps at Albertville
ALBERTVILLE – The Class 2A, No. 5 Sand Rock Lady Wildcats improved to 19-4 following a pair of wins over Crossville (25-21, 25-13) and Southside (25-18, 25-14) in Albertville on Tuesday.
Jennifer Campbell led the way with 14 kills and three aces. Carrie Robertson came away with 13 kills, eight digs and five aces. Megan Battles had 12 kills and three blocks.
Logan Smith managed 41 assists and three blocks. Karlie Anderson had 10 kills, eight blocks and three aces. Gena Farmer finished with eight digs and five aces. Kayla Mashburn added four digs.
