CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers split a pair of volleyball matches Tuesday. They defeated Westbrook Christian 25-12, 25-17, but fell in the nightcap to Ider 15-25, 23-25.
Against Westbrook, Cedar Bluff (18-23) was led by Hannah Leach’s nine kills. Candria Dupree added seven digs, six kills and three aces. Audrianna Hargitt had four kills, two aces and two digs.
Lauren Barnett came away with nine aces and three digs. Tanessa Fife managed four aces, two kills, two digs and an assist. Destiny Humphrey finished with 15 assists, an ace and a dig. Maci Hughes had four digs.
In the loss to Ider, Leach posted eight kills and three digs. Fife had six kills, two assists, an ace and a dig. Hargitt came away with five kills, two assists and an ace. Barnett and Hughes had five and three digs respectively.
Humphrey managed 19 assists, three digs and an ace. Dupree had three kills and an ace. Brooke Wood tallied a kill.
Cedar Bluff hosts Fyffe and Spring Garden on Thursday.
Sand Rock holds off Fyffe
FYFFE – Jennifer Campbell posted 22 digs and had 11 kills to lead the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats past Fyffe in volleyball action Tuesday. The scores were 25-17, 26-24 and 25-13.
Karlie Anderson added 11 kills, five aces, and three blocks for Sand Rock (28-5). Megan Battles had six kills and five blocks. Carrie Robertson came away with eight digs and four kills. Gena Farmer finished with eight digs, three kills and three aces. Kayla Mashburn had nine digs and Logan Smith tallied 28 assists and three aces.
Sand Rock takes court again on Saturday in a tournament at Danville.
