CENTRE – The 2009 Sunny King Classic Champions Jeremy McGatha and Jaylon Ellison teamed up for another title in the Cherokee County Country Club Two Man Scramble over the weekend.

McGatha, a former Cherokee County Country Club Champion, and Ellison captured the top honors in the Championship Flight by combining for a two day 30 under par total of 112 (55 – 57). The pair easily outdistanced the 124 (60-64) posted by the runner up twosome of Matt Rogers and Grant Hockman.

The top Cherokee County team in the Championship Flight consisted of Scott Hays and Kurt Duryea whose fourth place total was 126 (62-64). Duryea/Hays edged out former Club Champions David Garrett and Kim Nichols in a scorecard play-off.

T.J. McGatha and David Martin edged out former Cherokee County High School standout Lee Morgan and Robin Wood to capture the First Flight Championship.

Third place went to Country Club Superintendent Shane McElwee and Gaylesville’s C.J. Murphy. Steve Baker and Mike Terry finished fourth.
