The Sand Rock Town Council is preparing to approve its fiscal budget for 2009-2010. The budget was one of the items discussed during the Oct. 5 council meeting.

The town council’s main emphasis was to trim the budget and put to good use the revenue in a way that would benefit all the citizens in the Town of Sand Rock. All areas of the budget was discussed, with some discussions centered around the upcoming Sand Rock Day, that is scheduled for Saturday October 17.

The council is hoping for good weather, and a great turn-out for the event. There will be food and entertainment, with three different groups of singers scheduled during the event.

The council will vote on the budget at the next regular scheduled meeting.

A veterans program is scheduled for November 10 at Sand Rock School, which was discussed and promoted by the town council.
