Gaylesville girls open season with 53-34 win over Coosa Christian

GAYLESVILLE – Krysta Nichols scored 13 points and had seven steals and teammate Amber Moseley added 10 points and nine boards to lead the Gaylesville Lady Trojans to a season-opening 53-34 victory over Coosa Christian on Tuesday.

Kaitlyn Hammett netted eight points for Gaylesville (1-0). Hannah Beason and Casey Stone both had four points. Olivia Matthews posted 11 rebounds. Amberly LaFavor had three assists.

Karla Bruce led Coosa Christian with 16 points. Kortnie Lancaster finished with 10 points.

Gaylesville jumped out to a 12-4 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Trojans led 21-12 at the break and held a 37-18 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Gaylesville entertains Sand Rock on Thursday.
