Following Thursday night's dramatic 60-58, overtime victory at Piedmont, Warrior boys basketball coach Kori Walker said Friday night's boys and girls varsity games at Fort Payne has been canceled.

The game was canceled due to expected inclement weather in the Fort Payne area later this evening. There will be no make-up games.

Cherokee County (13-5) closes out the regular season on Monday at Ashville. The Warriors will then play Alexandria in the Class 4A, Area 12 tournament at Jacksonville next Friday at 6 p.m. Jacksonville takes on Hokes Bluff at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in the other area tournament semifinal.

The Area 12 boys championship is set for Monday at 7 p.m. in Jacksonville.

The Lady Warriors (8-9) will host the Class 4A, Area 12 girls tournament on Thursday when they take on Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Alexandria takes on Hokes Bluff in the other area tournament semifinal on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Centre.

The Area 12 girls championship is set for next Saturday at 5 p.m. in Centre.
