Spring Sports Roundup: Cedar Bluff outlasts Collinsville in 1A, Area 12 softball action

CEDAR BLUFF — Cedar Bluff fought back from an early deficit to pull off a 13-10 win over Collinsville in Class 1A, Area 12 softball Wednesday.

Collinsville scored eight runs in the top of the first inning, but Cedar Bluff responded by outscoring the Panthers 13-2 from there to get the win.

Lindsey Lambert allowed two earned runs and struck out three to earn the victory for Cedar Bluff. At the plate, Tabitha Combs had three hits, scored once and drove in two.

Haley Haney and Darby Abernathy each had two hits. Haney scored once and drove in two, while Abernathy had one RBI and scored twice. Suzie Quarles, Mariah Brown and Mechelle Adams each had one hit and two RBI. Brown and Adams also scored two runs apiece.

The win improved Cedar Bluff to 11-9 overall and 3-3 in area play. The Lady Tigers will host Gaston today at 4:30 p.m.

Junior Varsity Softball

Cedar Bluff 12, Collinsville 0

CEDAR BLUFF – Ariel Kurcharski allowed three hits in four innings of work to pick up the win as Cedar Bluff beat Collinsville 12-0 in junior varsity softball Wednesday.

Rylie Johnson had a two-run homer and scored three times for the Tigers. Jennifer Garmon added a two-run double and Haley Kimberly had two hits and scored three runs.
