A special called meeting of the Cedar Bluff Town Council was held Thursday April 1, 2010 beginning at 4:30 pm.

The Council verified a total of 321 signatures on the petition calling for a municipal election permitting the sale of and distribution of alcoholic beverages within Cedar Bluff.

The number of signatures exceeded the minimal legal requirement of 30% of the number who voted in the last general municipal election in the town. As a result, the Council passed Resolution 2010-03, which calls for a special election to be held on June 1 in order for the citizens of Cedar Bluff to vote alcohol sales up or down. The vote will be held at the Cedar Bluff Community Center.
