CEDAR BLUFF – Lindsey Lambert held Coosa Christian to no hits and struck out six as Cedar Bluff won 15-0 in three innings on Thursday.

At the plate, Katie McGinnis went 2 for 2 with a RBI and three runs to lead Cedar Bluff (15-14). Breauna Holloman had a hit with two runs. Kaitlyn Kilgro went 1 for 2 with two RBI. Amanda McGee went 1 for 3 with two RBI. Mechelle Adams had a hit with a RBI and three runs, and Mariah Brown went 1 for 3 with two RBI.

Cedar Bluff plays Gaston Monday at Spring Garden in the Class 1A, Area 12 tournament.

Cherokee County’s Minnix scores low medalist in quad-match

GADSDEN – On the Front 9 at the Gadsden Country Club Thursday, Cherokee County’s Jake Minnix shot 35 to lead the Warriors in a quad-match against Etowah, Gadsden City and Westbrook Christian.

Etowah won the tournament after posting a total score of 160. Gadsden City finished second at 166, followed by Westbrook at 172. Cherokee County was fourth with 174.

Trai West III shot 40 for the Warriors (12-9). Daniel Miller shot 45. Trace Garrett shot 53 and Colby Abernathy shot 55.
