Juveniles arrested in connection with local theft cases

The Leesburg Police Department has arrested two juveniles in connection with several theft cases in the area.

Charges include four counts of breaking and entering of a vehicle, one burglary and one charge of theft of property in the third degree.

According to Police Chief Lanny Ransum, Leesburg Police Officer Brian Gilliland received a call from KTH of someone breaking into a vehicle on the KTH property. Officer Gilliland's quick response led to the apprehension of a 15 year old juvenile. During the course of the investigation officers from the Leesburg Police Department and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Dept. were able to recover some stolen property from the Leesburg area.

Cherokee County Investigator Seth Rochester and Chief Ransum were able to clear up several cases and made another arrest of a juvenile from Sand Rock. More arrests could be forthcoming in this investigation.
