HOKES BLUFF — Class 4A, No. 9 Cherokee County (2-0) moved to 1-0 in 4A, Area 12 play by defeating Hokes Bluff, 46-44 on Tuesday.

Coty Blanchard scored 14 points to lead the Warriors, with Tyler Stubbs and D.J. Fife scoring seven each.

Cole Frederick led the Eagles with 23 points.

The Warriors host Alexandria Friday.

Collinsville 59, Gaston 45

COLLINSVILLE — Robert Gray scored 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to record a double-double as Collinsville (3-4, 2-1) topped Gaston 59-45 in a 1A, Area 12 contest.

Kenny Orr added 12 points and five rebounds for the Panthers.

Gaston (0-1) was led by Jared Bogle, who had 13 points and eight rebounds, and Collin Jarbo, who had 11 points and nine rebounds.

Both teams resume play with region action Friday. Collinsville will visit Asbury and Gaston will host Gaylesville.

Coosa 68, Gaylesvile 41

GAYLESVILLE — Coosa improved to 4-4 by defeating Gaylesville 68-41.

The Conquerors were led by Andrew England and A.T. Thomas, who each scored 14 points. Justin Langdale added 13 and Alex Mills 11 for the Conquerors.

Coosa will travel to Jacksonville Christian Friday for a 1A, Area 11 contest. Gaylesville (0-7) plays at Sand Rock on Thursday.

Sand Rock 84, Westbrook Christian 51

SAND ROCK — Justin Mackey’s 28 points led all scorers and helped the Sand Rock Wildcats defeat the Westbrook Warriors 84-51 in 2A, Area 12 action.

Brandon Burt scored 15 and Chase Brisendine 13 for the Wildcats (5-3). Jake King scored 21 points for Westbrook.

The Wildcats will host Gaylesville Thursday.

Piedmont 76, Cedar Bluff 63

PIEDMONT – The Bulldogs improved to 3-3 with the win.

Christian Cantrell scored 13 points and had seven steals for Piedmont. Tay Holloway scored 13 and had nine rebounds, and Chris Griffie scored 11.

Piedmont (3-3) hosts Weaver, while Cedar Bluff (1-2) takes on Spring Garden on Friday.

Sand Rock 53, Westbrook Christian 31

SAND ROCK — The Sand Rock Wildcats used a big night from Lauren Bell do defeat Westbrook 53-31 in a 2A, Area 12 game.

Bell had 22 points, four assists and four steals in the contest, while Tessa Pendergrass scored eight points.

Sand Rock (5-7, 2-1) will host Gaylesville Thursday.

Piedmont 55, Cedar Bluff 31

PIEDMONT — Piedmont’s Devonna Taylor posted a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) to lead the Lady Bulldogs to the win.

Janissa McKinney scored eight and had 10 rebounds for Piedmont (5-3).

Jessica Brannon led Cedar Bluff (0-4) with 15 points.

Hokes Bluff 51, Cherokee County 43

HOKES BLUFF — Hokes Bluff won its second 3A, Area 12 game with a 51-43 victory against Cherokee County.

Morgan Green scored 13 points for the Eagles (6-2, 2-0), who also got 11 from Jade Robertson and 10 from Courtney Cauthen. Hokes Bluff led 9-7, 17-16 and 32-30 at the quarter breaks.

Kaitlin Griffith and Deidra Davis scored 13 points apiece for the Lady Warriors (2-5).

Gaston 43, Collinsville 23

COLLINSVILLE — Gaston improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in 1A, Area 12 by defeating Collinsville 43-23.

Jessica Wilburn scored 16 points to go with four rebounds and four steals in leading the Class 1, No. 9 Bulldogs. Morgan Beaird added 13 points, while Kris Lawson had 10 points, four rebounds and four steals.

The Lady Bulldogs host Gaylesville Friday in another region contest.
