CENTRE — Jared Bogle scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds as Gaston squeaked out a 67-66 Class 1A, Area 12 win against Cedar Bluff.

Darius Lewis scored 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had four steals for the Bulldogs (2-1, 2-1). Collin Jarbo added 13 points and nine rebounds.

Gaston led 16-12 entering the second period, but trailed 34-30 at the half and 53-44 entering the final quarter. Tyric Scales led the Tigers (3-3) with 28 points. Marcus Reese scored 19.

Saks 66, Cherokee County 57

ANNISTON – Saks had three players score 14 points apiece to help sink the Warriors on Tuesday night.

R.J. Sturkie, Andre Richardson and Caleb Duke led the charge for the Wildcats (8-0). Richardson added 12 rebounds and Duke pulled down eight boards.

Cherokee County (3-3) was led by Coty Blanchard’s 18 points. He was 12 of 14 at the free throw line. Colin Perry added 13 points for the Warriors.

The two teams play again in Centre on Friday.

Collinsville 77, Gaylesville 37

GAYLESVILLE — Kenny Orr scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds as Collinsville cruised past Gaylesville, 77-28.

Nathan Coker added 15 points for Collinsville (5-5), who moved to 3-2 in 1A, Area 12 play.

Robert Gray, Sharrard Crawley and Dustin Johnson each added 11 points for the Panthers.

Collinsville begins play Saturday in the Cherokee Invitational.

Girls

Collinsville 51, Gaylesville 37

GAYLESVILLE — The Collinsville Panthers improved to 7-3 on the season and 3-2 in 1A, Area 12 play by defeating Gaylesville, 51-37.

The Panthers were led by Kristen Ford, who scored 16 points. Alisha Bowen added nine points and Jasmine Williams grabbed 18 rebounds for Collinsville.

The Panthers begin play in the Cherokee Invitational Saturday.

Gaston 65, Cedar Bluff 37

CENTRE – Cedar Bluff dropped to 1-6 on the season with the loss to Gaston Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers will play Gaylesville on Friday in the Cherokee County Invitational Tournament.
