Tuesday Volleyball Action: Sand Rock splits with Albertville, Scottsboro

ALBERTVILLE – Karlie Anderson posted a total of 15 kills and four blocks, Chasitie Goza added 15 kills and Logan Smith 36 assists to lead the Class 2A, No. 6 Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a split in volleyball action Tuesday at Albertville.

Sand Rock (23-12) lost to Albertville 15-25, 24-26 but rebounded to defeat Scottsboro 25-17, 25-28.

Emily Ozment had 19 digs for Sand Rock. Lana Bell came away with 18 digs. Kelsey Hayes finished with five aces and five kills.

Sand Rock is now preparing to defend its Cherokee County Tournament championship. The Lady Wildcats play the winner of Cedar Bluff-Gaylesville on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cherokee County High School.
